Bad Hair Days, wardrobe malfunctions and other mid-life confidence zappers
My Second Spring's new Masterclasses tackle midlife crises of confidence
PRESS RELEASE/25 March 2016
Bad Hair Days, wardrobe malfunctions and other mid-life confidence zappers
Irish website My Second Spring hosts CONFIDENCE! seminar series for mid-life women – in partnership with Viviscal Hair Health system
Everyone hates bad hair days, but for an estimated 80% of women who have reached 60, a degree of hair thinning makes every day a bad hair day. Around 25% of Irish women experience troubling hair loss, 40% of that number are thought to suffer from Alopecia.
Menopause and ageing make midlife women especially vulnerable, from age 40 on. Add in the loss of self-esteem that can accompany other hormonal symptoms and it is not surprising that confidence can take a nosedive.
In response, My Second Spring, the Irish website for positive midlife and menopause, is meeting these confidence killers head on with two Confidence Masterclasses. The first – in partnership with Irish hair loss supplement brand Viviscal - is on the 7th April at The Merrion Hotel and brings together three of Ireland's top styling experts to tackle the issues.
· Consultant Trichologist Carol Johnson will delve into the things women can do to protect their hair as they age, and how to tackle the "situational" hair loss that evolves from factors we can control – stress, poor nutrition, vitamin deficiency and thyroid problems.
· Top international hair stylist Helen Kenny will share some amazing tricks to tackle bad hair days from her experience behind the scenes on countless magazine shoots.
· Styling expert The Wardrobe Mistress will show you the fast way to some wardrobe reinvention, without even leaving your home!

My Second Spring Founder Aisling Grimley, explains the rationale behind the events: Menopause can really knock women's confidence and self esteem, and at My Second Spring, we are all about empowering women.
